The Last Summer

This weekend I have had fun making a patchwork bag from a Summersville charm pack. I used nine squares on each side and a further six for the handles. All the stitching was done on my sewing machine.

I arranged the fabric in strips of the same patterns running vertically.

I mixed the colours up to ensure no adjacent squares were the same.

The handles are attached between the patchwork panels and the lining. I top-stitched around the opening to help keep the lining in place.

I finished the bag with one of my ‘Made by Zoë Sharp’ labels.

Summersville is a range of fabric from Moda designed by Lucie Summers. I love these designs and will probably buy some more so I can make a quilt with it. I still have half a charm pack left so I might make another bag.
