More blankets

I have finished a baby blanket in a lovely selection of colours. I wanted something that would be suitable for a girl or a boy and not too pale. I already had all this yarn so it has helped to use up some of my stash too. I am really pleased with how the colours work and the texture of this blanket is lovely and snuggly.
I have started on another larger blanket. I have lots of brown yarns, and I think there is enough yarn for the whole blanket, although I will probably be proved wrong! The yarn is all quite chunky so I am using a bigger crochet hook than usual. I love how quickly this blanket is growing.
I am using lots of different yarns including some variegated ones which give this blanket a really interesting appearance and texture.
In a (very) slight change my next crochet project at the moment is a scarf. Even though I have made a big blanket, and a hexagon scarf from the sew make believe yarn oddments I still have lots left. I am using up a bit more making this scarf. It is just stripes of colour alternated with stripes of white. I have used up most of the bright coloured yarn now so I think I am finally going to give up on using the oddments.
I have one more blanket project lined up, this time it is a blanket for Paul and we have been out to buy the yarn so he can have exactly what he wants. I will be starting on this as soon as I finish the brown blanket. I am really looking forward to using whole balls of yarn and knowing I have enough to finish a project for a change.
